$2,400 RAISED IN YARD SALE
Last Friday and Saturday’s Parish Yard Sale raised more than $2,400 for St. Peter’s. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a success, especially the Yard Sale Committee under the leadership of Linda Abbott, all those who volunteered with sales and food, and the Youth Group who helped with breakfast on Saturday. Thank you too to HALO who came to pick up the leftovers in time for us to set up for the Bishop Candidates Forum.
BISHOP CANDIDATES CAME TO ST. PETER’S – WHAT’S NEXT?
This past Monday St. Peter’s welcomed the four candidates who were nominated to be the next Bishop of Easton along with their spouses who are doing a Walk About this week in the Diocese. We had close to 100 people attend the forum hosted by the Diocese’s Transition Committee, including a good number of parishioners from St. Peter’s. Thank you to the Fellowship and Hospitality Committee, our delegation to Convention, and everyone who helped make this event a success.
St. Peter’s will be represented at the Bishop’s Electing Convention on June 11 at Trinity Cathedral in Easton by your delegation who will be voting on who will be the next bishop. To elect a bishop a candidate must receive a majority vote in both the lay and clergy orders. Your delegation is:
The Rev. David Michaud, Clergy
Bravard Cornbrooks, Lay Delegate
Carolyn Jenkins, Lay Delegate
John Phillips, Lay Delegate
Your delegation wants to hear your thoughts on who the next Bishop of Easton should be. There are three ways to have your voice heard:
1. Sunday Discussion Sessions:
There will be discussion sessions
on the bishop candidates this Sunday, May 29 after the 9am service and the 11am services. All are welcome to attend, especially if you attended the Monday Bishop’s forum and read the special issue of the Eastern Shore Episcopalian. Attend, listen, provide feedback.
2. Fill out a comment form for the delegation to read:
Comment Forms will be available this Sunday and in the Parish Office to fill out, or you can download and fill out a comment card on the website now by clicking here: http://www.stpeterschurch.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Bishop-Candidates-Comment-Form.pdf
3. Send your comments directly to your delegation. Talk with them at church or send them an email at their email address listed above. Let them know whom you would like as the next Bishop of Easton.

YOUTH SUNDAY IS THIS SUNDAY
This Sunday at the 9am service our youth will be serving in various worship ministries. The worship band under the direction of Brittany Spicer will also be performing at this service.
REMEMBERING ON MEMORIAL DAY
St. Peter’s will have a Memorial Day service of Holy Eucharist at 8:30am this Monday, May 30. We will be remembering those who have died in service to their country at the altar on that day. If you would like the names of loved ones included, fill out a Memorial Day form in church this Sunday and place it in the almsbasin.
PARISH PICNIC JUNE 5
Our Annual Parish Picnic is only 11 days away! We are traveling to Cedar Hill Park, in Bivalve which is about 19 miles west of St. Peter’s down Nanticoke Road. There will be outdoor worship at 11am overlooking the beautiful Nanticoke River followed by the picnic after noon. Youth Awards will be presented during the service. Entrees, drinks, condiments and paper products will be provided. You are asked to bring a dessert, side dish or salad to share. For the worship service, bring lawn chairs if you have them (and maybe some extras to share). Also you are welcomed to bring lawn games, balls and other such equipment for youth and adults to use. Note that we will also have an 8am service in the church that day.
PARISH OFFICE CLOSED FRIDAY AND MONDAY
Note that our Parish Secretary is away on Friday and the office is closed on Monday for the Memorial Day Federal Holiday.
