7:45am:  Said Holy Eucharist Rite I; Wesley Mitchell returns as organist.

9:00am: Holy Eucharist Rite II with St. Peter’s new worship band under the direction of Brittany Spicer.  The band will play on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays at this service; Peter’s Voice will play on the 1st and 3rd Sundays.  Robert Young will also play the organ during this service.

11:00am: Sung Holy Eucharist Rite II with organ and St. Peter’s Choir under the direction of Robert Young.  Choir will begin the service with an Introit.

MINISTRY FAIR THIS SUNDAY
This Sunday is also when we will hold our annual Ministry Fair downstairs in the Parish Hall from 8:30am until 11:00am.   Be sure to come down and see all the ministries St. Peter’s has to offer and how you can be involved.  This is also the place to register for Children’s Sunday School and the Trailblazers Youth Group.  Ministry leaders: please let Parish Secretary Cathy Parsons know how many tables you will need for your display.  The Parish Hall will be open for set up this Saturday morning from 9am to 11am.

PREMIERE OF ST. PETER’S VIDEO PRESENTATION AT DISCERNMENT COTTAGE MEETINGS
A video presentation – St. Peter’s Church: Our Past, Present and Future – has been produced and can be seen exclusively as part of the Discernment Cottage Meetings now underway.  The Cottage Meetings are your opportunity to participate in discussions about our future together at St. Peter’s.  Here are the dates and times of upcoming meetings:

Wednesday, Sept. 7th (7 p.m.);
Thursday, Sept. 8th (7 p.m.);
Sunday, Sept. 11th (1 p.m.);
Monday, Sept. 12th (10 a.m., 7 p.m.);
Tuesday, Sept. 13th (7 p.m.);
Wednesday, Sept. 14th (7 p.m.); and
Sunday, Sept. 18th (10:15 a.m.)

This is a critical part of our discernment process and your participation is very important.  At the Ministry Fair this Sunday, please go to the sign up table and indicate which meeting you would like to attend.  We need to know how many are interested in each time so we can have enough facilitators.  There may be between one to four meetings at a particular time, depending on how many people are interested in that time slot.  All meetings are held at St. Peter’s.
The meetings should take an hour and a half or so.  We will begin with a video presentation and then have discussions in groups of 10 to 12 led by a member of the Vestry.  Vestry members have been trained through Episcopal Church Foundation to facilitate these sessions.  You can also contact the Parish Office and let them know when you want to sign up.  Thank you for making time to help your parish discern our future.

TUESDAY SERIES AND POTLUCK ON ISAIAH
The topic for this fall’s Tuesday Evening Adult Education Study Series is the Prophet Isaiah.  Father David Michaud will be teaching a six week series on discovering the “real” Isaiah in the Parish Hall beginning Tuesday, September 13 and all are invited to participate.  Potluck is at 6pm (bring a dish to share) and the class begins at 6:40pm.  Information on the series can be found at the Education Table at the Ministry Fair this Sunday.

YOUTH CONFIRMATION CLASS BEGINS THIS SUNDAY
All youth of high school age who wish to receive the sacrament of confirmation when the bishop visits in January must enroll in the Sunday afternoon 12:30pm confirmation class which begins this Sunday, September 11, in the Catacombs, located in the basement of the Parish Annex.  The classes are held every other Sunday through the fall.  Contact the Parish Office if you would like your child to be enrolled in the class.  More information is at:
http://www.stpeterschurch.net/confirmation-class/.

MISSION PRESENTATION
There will be a presentation at St. Alban’s in the Parish Hall on Sunday, September 11, at 2:30 p.m. by folks who went on the Costa Rica Mission Trip, including the Diocesan Youth Missioner Joanne Fisher. Light refreshments will be served Please plan to attend to hear first hand about their ministry and experiences, and to meet the Youth Missioner.

 PARISH PICTORIAL DIRECTORY
A draft of the directory’s contact listings is available this Sunday at the Ministry Fair for the parish to review.  Someone from each household listed is asked to review your information on the list to ensure it is accurate.  Please sign off so we know it is correct, or correct any mistakes.    It is important for you to check to make sure your information is correct before we go to the printer. Thank you.

COLLECTING ITEMS THIS SUNDAY FOR YOUTH OUTREACH ACTIVITY
At the Ministry Fair youth will be asked to help decorate shoe boxes for use by the CARES program at Wi-Middle that will contain toiletries and basic items for students in need.  Sunday School Director Bravard Cornbrooks is asking parishioners to bring in any of the following items and deliver them this week to the Parish Office or drop off Sunday at the Youth Table in the Ministry Fair.  Thank you.

Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Deodorant, Kleenexes, Hand sanitizers, Lotion, Soap, Combs, Shampoo, Granola bars, Non-perishable snacks, t-shirts, underwear, socks.

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED
Do you have the gift of teaching?  Are you interested in seeing that our young people grow in knowledge of Jesus Christ and Christian beliefs and practices?  Would you consider giving of our time and talent as part of a team of teachers for our elementary school classes this year?  There are unfilled teaching positions for our elementary school children at Sunday School.  This is a serious concern:  every time there is a baptism we as a congregation promise to “do all in our power to support this child in his/her life in Christ,” which includes providing Christian formation and education for the children in our parish.  Will you consider volunteering for this important ministry?   A schedule has already been established and you would not have to teach every Sunday. The curriculum is very accessible and does not require involved preparations.  If you feel strongly about Christian formation of our youth and have interest and skills in teaching youth, please contact the Sunday School Coordinator, Bravard Cornbrooks, for more information and to offer your services at
ebcornbrooks@comcast.net; 410-749-0245.  Please pray that teachers will hear and respond to this call to ministry.

HAND BELL CHOIR REHEARSES THIS THURSDAY – NEW RINGERS WELCOME!
It’s all about the music!  Grace Notes, our handbell choir, is a very important part of the music ministry at St. Peter’s and adds a beautiful element to the worship experience.  Our members age in range from middle school through adult and have varying musical abilities.

If you are interested in exploring this wonderful musical opportunity, please come this Thursday, September 8th at 5:30pm to the Handbell Choir Room on the second floor of the Parish House.  We will teach you the basic ins and outs of playing handbells in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.  No musical experience required and no commitment required (unless, of course, you end up liking it!!).

If you have any questions, please contact Megan Fenoglietto, Grace Notes handbell choir director.

COME JOIN THE KEY SINGERS
Practices for St. Peter’s Children’s and Youth Choir – “the Key Singers” --are Tuesdays at 6 PM in the Key Singer’s Choir Room If you have any children or youth who like to sing or you hear singing in the car, please let Calvin Collins know at
Musicalcollins@gmail.com or between worship services for more information. Christ welcomes all just as this choir welcomes all people who desire a challenge in music excellency and to know and serve God through music. Please pray for the parents, children, and youth in this choir. If you would like to help out with the choir during practices, please let Calvin know.

CARING FOR CREATION: WICOMICO RIVER CLEAN UP SEPT 17
The Wicomico Interfaith Partners for Creation Stewardship which includes St. Peter’s is hosting a clean up of the Wicomico River and its downtown surroundings in conjunction with International Coastal Clean Up Day on Saturday, September 17th from 10:00am to 12:30pm.  Since this clean up will take place downtown where St. Peter’s is located, it would be wonderful to have folks from St. Peter’s taking part.  Everyone will meet at the downtown parking lot on the Wicomico River next to Market Street Inn.  Bring water, gloves, hat, sunscreen – and your boat if you wish to clean up from the water.  Mark your calendars and plan to attend to help care for God’s creation.

BISHOP MURRAY’S INSTALLATION ON  OCT 15
We will be celebrating the Investiture of our new bishop, the Rt. Rev. Santosh Murray, at 11am on Saturday October 15 at Todd Performance Center, Chesapeake College, Wye Mills.  Music begins at 10:30am.  All members of parishes in the Diocese of Easton are encouraged to attend. Parishioners are encouraged to carpool and arrive early.

Lay Ministers encouraged to participate
In order to celebrate the fullness of baptized ministry in the diocese, Acolytes, Lay Eucharistic Ministers, and other Lay Ministers are invited by the Transition Committee to vest and process during the procession in the liturgy. All lay ministers are welcome to vest and process, but only those who register will be able to do so, as seats will need to be reserved.  Please email Father David at
davidmichaud07@gmail.com or contact the Parish Office by Thursday, October 7 if you are interested in participating.  Father David needs to send a list of participants to the Transition Committee prior to the service.  Lay ministers from St. Peter’s will be processing behind our parish banner.

Singers invited to be part of the combined choir
There will be one choir at the Investiture Service composed of singers from throughout the Diocese --singers from St. Peter’s are encouraged to participate.  There will be two rehearsals – a regional and a full rehearsal – that singers should attend:
