Peter's Post

Cathy Parsons Hired as St Peter's Parish Secretary

Father David announced at worship services this past Sunday that Cathy Parsons of Fruitland, MD has accepted the position of Parish Secretary at St. Peter’s.  Her first day will be this Monday, September 9.  Cathy will be working full-time Monday through Friday in the Parish Office.  This means that the Parish Office hours will be expanded to 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.
Cathy brings to the position more than 20 years of experience as a secretary, with 10 of them working in a church office.  Please be sure to welcome Cathy to St. Peter’s.

With this development, we are also saying goodbye to our part time Administrative Assistant, Madeline Moore, whose last day will be Thursday, September 12.  “I am grateful for Madeline’s work in the Parish Office,” said Fr. David.  “She has been of great assistance in supporting the financial work of the office and has provided a warm welcome on the phone and to visitors.  We wish her the best.”

New Worship Times this Sunday

This coming Sunday we will be back to our normal schedule of three services, but the times have changed.  The services will be as follows:

Sign up for a Foyer Group

There has been a good response so far for the fall Foyer Groups, and there is still time for you to sign up. A Foyer Group is like a supper club for church members and is a great way to get to know other members of St. Peter’s in a relaxed setting with a simple meal. Eight people are assembled into a group (four couples or a combination of couples and singles). Once a month for four months, a different member of the group hosts a dinner at home for the other members of the group. The host provides a main dish and beverages with the others bringing an appetizer, a salad, a dessert, etc.

Groups will be contacted in late August with the intention of having a dinner in September, October, November, and December. We hope to continue with new groups in the spring. Sign up forms will be available in church. You can also sign up by sending your name(s), telephone number and email address to the Foyer Group Coordinator, Ann Allen, at ann.allen@comcast.net.
