All Parish Clean Up Day Oct 12 – Your Help is Needed!
Will you help to make our church shine?  The Property Committee is coordinating a Fall Clean Up Day at St. Peter’s Church this Saturday, October 12 beginning at 9am and volunteers are needed to help with a variety of projects.  Come to the church Saturday morning and we’ll find a job for you, and you’ll be contributing toward the good stewardship of the buildings and grounds entrusted to our care.   Thank you!

Opportunity for Service:  Altar Linens
The Altar Guild is seeking someone who would be willing to take on the task of laundering and folding the altar linen each week for our worship services.  If you are one of those individuals who enjoys washing and ironing, perhaps you may be called to this ministry.  Hours are flexible, training will be provided, and a commitment is needed. Consider responding to this opportunity to serve your church.  Does not have to be one person – two or more could share this ministry.  For more information or to express your interest, contact Ruth Anne Oartel, or the Parish Office.

Oktoberfest Dinner a Success

Last Sunday’s Oktoberfest Dinner in St. Peter’s Parish Hall was a success, with the EYC youth group raising over $600 to put towards its activities and trips for the year.  Thank you to all who attended and to all the youth and parents who helped put on the dinner.  The food was delicious, the service by our youth terrific, and a good time was had by those who attended.  Next EYC dinner is an Italian Café Night scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 1 – mark your calendars!

Bell Choir to Perform This Sunday

St. Peter’s Bell Choir is scheduled to perform this Sunday at the 11am service of Holy Eucharist.

Organ Dedication Concert October 18

St. Peter’s is dedicating our new organ on Friday, October 18 with an Organ Dedication Concert at 7pm in the church.  Fr. David will formally dedicate the organ, and then we’re in for a treat:  Nationally renowned organist John Walker, Minister of Music Emeritus at Brown Memorial Park Avenue Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, will put our organ through its paces with a concert featuring some great organ pieces.  A free will offering will be taken.  Plan to attend and invite friends and family and anyone who has an interest in organ music to come as well.  There are flyers available at the church – please take some this Sunday and distribute them to help us get the word out.For a list of the music that John Walker will be playing go to

Host Families needed for Boys Choir Concert November 8

Host families are needed to give members of the Maryland State Boys Choir a place to stay Friday night, November 8.  If you can make your home available to host one or more members of the choir, please contact Bruce Horner.

Blessing of the Animals  on TV
Did you catch the news broadcast Saturday when WMDT-TV reported on St. Peter’s Blessing of the Animals?  Father David blessed a number of parish dogs and a cat at the brief gathering in St. Peter’s church courtyard Saturday afternoon on the commemoration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
