Peter's Post

ASCENSION DAY EUCHARIST TOMORROW

Tomorrow is the principal feast of the Ascension.  We will celebrate Christ’s ascension into heaven with Holy Eucharist this Thursday, May 14 at 7pm in the Church.  This is one of the most joyful services of the year with wonderful lessons, hymns and prayers.  Plan to be part of this important feast day on the church calendar: come to the Ascension Day Holy Eucharist.

NOTE:  NO WEDNESDAY HEALING SERVICE TODAY

There is no Wednesday Noon Eucharist with the Public Service of Healing today as the Rector is in Baltimore today for the General Convention Secretariat training.

MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE SCHEDULED

There will be a service of remembrance and Holy Eucharist on Monday, May 25, at 8:30am in the church.  The names of those who died in service to our nation will be remembered.  If you would like the names of loved ones remembered for this service, fill out a Memorial Day In Memoriam form and send to the Parish office or place in the alms basin on Sunday.  Plan to be present at this special service and begin your Memorial Day observance in prayer and remembrance at St. Peter’s, and invite others to attend as well.

PARISH PICNIC: MAY 31

Mark your calendars – Parish Picnic is Sunday, May 31 at Cedar Hill Park in Bivalve, MD.  We will have an outdoor service at 10am followed by our annual picnic on the grounds of the park.  It’s also Youth Sunday so all youth are encouraged to participate in the service. Youth and parents:  contact Mary Phillips about helping out with the Eucharist.  Note that on that Sunday there will also be an 8:00am service in the church.

ADULT FORUM:  GENERAL CONVENTION

The Adult Forum series on General Convention concludes this Sunday, May 17 in the Parish Hall between the 9am and 11am worship services. We will continue looking at some specific resolutions up for a vote at General Convention, and answer any questions about what goes on at a General Convention. All are welcome.
