EASTER TRIDUUM
A Triduum is a period of three days of preparation for a feast day.  The Easter Triduum is now upon us, which includes the worship services of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday, preparing us for the feast of Easter. The Triduum liturgies center on the remembrance and celebration of the culminating events of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ: his passion, death and resurrection.  Through these liturgies we walk with our Lord into the paschal mystery, sharing in his experiences of servitude, suffering, death and resurrection.  These are among the most holy and moving liturgies we experience throughout the year. St. Peter’s will be observing all these liturgies and you are encouraged to be part of this Triduum experience this week.
March 24: Maundy Thursday Service (St. Peter’s Choir, Children’s Choir): 7pm, followed by an all-night Watch at the Altar of Repose
March 25:  Good Friday Morning Prayer-Rite I: 8:30am; then Good Friday Service (St. Peter’s Choir): 12noon
March 26: Holy Saturday Morning Prayer-Rite II: 8:30am; then Great Vigil of Easter (Baptism): 8pm

EASTER: A GLORIOUS DAY FOR CELEBRATION!
This Sunday we celebrate the feast of Our Lord’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday (Alleluia! Alleluia!). There will be music at all three services.  The Children’s Choir will perform at the 9am service along with organ and brass instruments.  St. Peter’s Choir along with organ and brass will perform at the 11am service.  Note that the early service begins at 7:30am on Easter Sunday.
An Easter Egg hunt for the children will be held after the 9am service in place of Sunday School.  The Downtown Plaza will be closed to traffic that morning and will be the site of the Easter Egg hunt.  Many thanks to the Trailblazers Youth Group who is organizing this event.
Easter is a wonderful opportunity to invite friends and family to come to church.  Prayerfully consider who you can invite to this joyous occasion and reach out to them now with an invitation.

WATCH WITH THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
Jesus said to Peter in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Could you not stay awake with me one hour?  Stay awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial.” (Matt. 25:40-41)
From Maundy Thursday evening (March 24) until noontime on Good Friday (March 25), the Reserve Sacrament is taken out of the church and placed on the Altar of Repose, decorated in a garden setting, in the Parlor in the Parish House. All are invited to come during this period of time and spend some time in prayer.   There are still some openings for hours on the attendant sign up sheet on the bulletin board, especially late Thursday evening.

SIGN-UP FOR PARISH DIRECTORY PHOTOS CONTINUES SUNDAY
Sign-ups continue this Sunday for your appointment to have your picture taken for the new 2016 St. Peter’s Pictorial Directory.  Parishioner Jim Ritch of DisciplePix will be taking pictures in the Parish Hall on Tuesday, April 12, Wednesday April 13, Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16. The sign-up sheets are available this Sunday at coffee hour in the Library for reserving your 15 minute appointment.
Everyone who participates will receive a free 8 x 10 portrait and a new directory.  It is very important for St. Peter’s as we encourage greater fellowship and as we grow as a congregation to have a good response to this so we can have as many photos of parishioners in the directory as possible.
If you cannot make any of those days and times, there is a place on the sign-up sheets to indicate you are interested in being part of a make-up session in May.

ANNUAL MEETING APRIL 10
The Annual Meeting of St. Peter’s Salisbury Parish takes place Sunday, April 10.  There will be reports given and elections held for Vestry and Diocesan Convention delegates.  The meeting will take place in the Parish Hall at 9:30am.  A Parish Breakfast will take place in the Parish Hall before the meeting at about 8:50am, so plan to be there for good food and fellowship, followed by the meeting.
On that day, there will be Holy Eucharist at 7:45am and 11:00am.  Activities are being planned for children during the meeting.  The commissioning of new Vestry members and officers will take place during the 11am service.
