EASTER TRIDUUM
A Triduum is a period of three days of preparation for a feast day.  The Easter Triduum is now upon us, which includes the worship services of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday, preparing us for the feast of Easter. The Triduum liturgies center on the remembrance and celebration of the culminating events of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ: his passion, death and resurrection.  Through these liturgies we walk with our Lord into the paschal mystery, sharing in his experiences of servitude, suffering, death and resurrection.  These are among the most holy and moving liturgies we experience throughout the year. St. Peter’s will be observing all these liturgies and you are encouraged to be part of this Triduum experience this week.

April 13: Maundy Thursday Service (St. Peter’s Choir, Children’s Choir): 7pm, followed by an all-night Watch with the Blessed Sacrament at the Altar of Repose

April 14:  Good Friday Service (St. Peter’s Choir): 12noon

April 15: Holy Saturday Morning Prayer-Rite II: 8:30am; then Great Vigil of Easter (Baptism): 8pm - BRING YOUR BELLS TO RING AT THE EASTER VIGIL!!!

EASTER: A GLORIOUS DAY FOR CELEBRATION!
This Sunday we celebrate the feast of Our Lord’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday (Alleluia! Alleluia!). There will be music at all three services.

St. Peter’s Worship Band will perform as well as the Key Singers youth choir at the 9am service along with trumpets and Robert Young at the organ.  St. Peter’s Choir along with organ and brass will perform at the 11am service.  Note that the early service begins 15 minutes early at 7:30am on Easter Sunday so that we can sing three Easter hymns.
Easter is a wonderful opportunity to invite friends and family to come to church.  Prayerfully consider who you can invite to this joyous occasion and reach out to them now with an invitation.

EASTER ACTIVITIES FOR YOUTH
Children are invited to join the procession at the beginning of the 9am service carrying their Alleluia Banners that they made prior to Ash Wednesday  and which have been “entombed” during Lent.  It reminds our youth that during Lent, being a season of penitence, we refrain from saying Alleluia until Easter Day.  Then they will raise their Alleluia Banners in celebration.

PARENTS:  Please have those children who want to participate in the procession come to the Parish Library 10 minutes before the 9am service to pick up banners and to line up for the procession.
An Easter Egg Hunt for the children will be held after the 9am service in place of Sunday School.  Children should gather after the 9am service outside the parlor near the courtyard doors to be part of the hunt.  The Downtown Plaza will be closed to traffic that morning and will be the site of the Easter Egg hunt.  Many thanks to the Trailblazers Youth Group who is organizing this event.

Make sure to stay for coffee hour and have a slice of Easter Cake and goodies.

OFFICE CLOSED
The Parish Office will close early on Good Friday (April 14), at 2pm.  The Parish Office will be closed on Easter Monday (April 17)

APRIL 21: THIRD FRIDAY ACTIVITIES & CARING FOR CREATION EVENT
The Friday after Easter, April 21, is the beginning of this year’s outdoors Third Fridays Downtown in Salisbury and St. Peter’s is once again planning to be part of the festivities as Salisbury’s downtown church.  For the April Third Friday, St. Peter’s will be selling its famous hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks in the courtyard and will also have a plant sale and a children’s activity.  These activities will run from 5pm to 8pm. The theme this month is “Sustainable Salisbury,” featuring themes of ecology and caring for creation.

Caring for Creation

In addition, the program will include music and reflections from leaders of local faith communities and a drum circle..

On Saturday, April 22, the series continues with talks and activities at Asbury United Methodist Church.
A special Earth Day-themed art activity for youths ages 5-12 will be offered on Saturday morning by the SBY Art Space. Registration is required for this workshop since it is limited to 30 children. To register your child for the art program, call 410-546-4748.
