CAFÉ NIGHT THIS SUNDAY
St. Peter’s Trailblazers Youth Group is hosting its spring fundraiser, an Italian Café Night, this Sunday, April 2 from 5pm to 7pm in the Parish Hall.  The theme is "Italian: A Trip to Italy."  Youth and their families are cooking up an Italian feast and our youth will provide table service.  Please come, bring family and friends, and support the good work and activities of the youth of our parish.

HOLY WEEK OBSERVANCES
The Easter Triduum consists of three special services in Holy Week:  Maundy Thursday (April 13), Good Friday (April 14) and the Great Vigil of Easter (April 15).  These services commemorate the Last Supper, Our Lord’s crucifixion and death, and his resurrection, and they are all linked together as one liturgy in three parts.  To participate in all three services is to experience the totality of the Paschal Mystery.  We go from being observers to being participants in Christ’s passion, death, and his passover from death to life in the resurrection. Consider taking the time to experience all or even one of these services this year.  They are all rooted in the ancient liturgies of our church going back to the earliest centuries of its existence.

Maundy Thursday Service – 7pm on April 13
Good Friday Service – 12noon on April 14
Great Vigil of Easter – 8pm on April 15

CENTERING PRAYER – APRIL 8
As part of our “Spiritual Saturdays” series during Lent here will be a workshop on Centering Prayer in the church at 10am- 11:30am on Saturday, April 8.  Led by the Rector, Fr. David, the workshop will explore and practice the techniques of centering prayer as a means of meditation and spiritual awareness.  All are welcomed to participate.  Give yourself the gift of some time in prayer.  Mark your calendar and come to St. Peter’s Saturday morning, April 8 for centering prayer.

WATCH WITH THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
Jesus said to Peter in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Could you not stay awake with me one hour?  Stay awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial.” (Matt. 25:40-41)

From Maundy Thursday evening (April 13) until noontime on Good Friday (April 14), the Reserve Sacrament is taken out of the church and placed on the Altar of Repose, decorated in a garden setting, in the Parlor in the Parish House.  At least one person is asked to be in attendance with the Blessed Sacrament during that time.  There are still 8 one-hour time slots available on the sign-up sheet on the table outside the Parlor.  Would you have an hour to give to Our Lord in prayer and meditation?  Those who have signed up in past years have found being with the Blessed Sacrament to be a spiritual moving experience.  There is no requirement other than just being present with Our Lord for that one hour. There are also FAQ's sheets about the Watch on the table which provide more information.

EASTER FLOWERS
Order forms are available for Easter Flowers at coffee hour and from the Parish Office.  Make a donation in memory or in honor of loved ones for Easter flowers to adorn our altar.  Your loved ones will be listed in our Easter Sunday bulletins and remembered at the altar on Easter Sunday.  Deadline is April 9.

REHEARSALS FOR HOLY WEEK SERVICES
There will be a rehearsal this Sunday after the 11am service in the church for those serving and involved in the Palm Sunday services.  There will be a rehearsal in the church on April 9 at 12:30pm for those serving and involved in the Maundy Thursday service and a rehearsal that same day at 1:15pm for those serving at the Easter Vigil service.

EASTER EGG HUNT & ALLELUIA BANNERS ON EASTER SUNDAY-APRIL 16
It is our custom to hold an Easter Egg Hunt for the children after the 9am service on Easter Sunday.  The Trailblazers Youth Group will be hiding the eggs on the property and on the downtown plaza just before the hunt (we have a permit to block off the street). All children are welcomed to participate as we celebrate the resurrection of Our Lord.

Don’t forget that the alleluia banners that the children made before Lent and which are safely “buried” during this season will be unfurled and carried by the children in procession at the 9am Easter Sunday service as well.

TUESDAY EVENING LENTEN SERIES
The Tuesday Evening Lenten Series:  “5 Marks of Love: Living Life Marked as Christ’s Own” continues this Tuesday in the Parish Hall and all are invited to participate.  There’s a potluck at 6pm – please bring a dish to share – and the class gets underway at 6:40pm.  The Mark of Mission to be discussed at the next meeting will be TRANSFORM:  Transforming unjust structures, challenging violence of every kind, and pursuing peace and reconciliation.
