Altar Guild

Members of the Altar Guild serve in one or more of the following areas: Sunday services, Weddings, Funerals and special services. Teams prepare the altar for all three Sunday services.  Their responsibilities include preparing the vessels for Communion and Baptism; changing the altar, pulpit, and lectern hangings in accordance with the church year colors; caring for the altar/communion linens. New members are always welcome.

Flowers on the Altars

If you would like to contribute to the “Altar Guild Flower Fund” and help the altar guild keep fresh flowers on the altar every week, please make a donation in the envelopes, and write “Altar Flowers” on your check. You can also give flowers in memory or in honor of a loved one.

We have a wonderful acolyte program, which is a serving ministry of the Church. The Acolytes program is made up of members of the parish who volunteer their time and talent to serve during the liturgy by carrying the processional crosses, torches, banners and flags and various other duties. We continue to invite all who may have a desire to join us in this ministry.

Choir, Singing Groups, Soloists

Make a joyful noise!  There are many opportunities to participate in musical offerings at worship services.  St. Peter’s has a signing group, Peter’s Voice, that leads music at the 9am worship services twice a month.  St. Peter’s Choir leads music at the 11am Traditional Sunday Holy Eucharist and at special services throughout the year. And there are opportunities for solo and combination performances.  Contact the parish’s Music Director about singing opportunities.

Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers administer the cup at communion. They also lead the Prayers of the People and do the Scripture Readings.

Lay members of the congregation who read scripture lessons at church services.

Trained minister of hospitality and bearer of offerings at church services.

Worship Committee

All of these Ministries are coordinated by the parish’s Worship Committee, chaired by the Rector.
