Saint Gabriel
Saint Gabriel

The image of SAINT GABRIEL, depicting an angel wearing a cope and alb and holding a lily, appears as an upper window on the west wall of the sanctuary.

Saint Gabriel depicts "God is my strength" and is the great archangel believed to stand in the presence of God. As such, he represents the royal dignity of God. He acts as the pre-eminent messenger angel, and served as the messenger of the Annunciation. His usual raiment is the cope and alb, and he is usually depicted carrying a lily and sceptre. When shown as the angel of the Day of Judgment, he often bears a trumpet.

Diocesan Collect

Gracious God, through the movement of your Holy Spirit; strengthen us here at St. Peter's and in the Diocese of Eason as an inviting and welcoming people; receive our worship, nurture our life in Christ that we may evermore faithfully serve all your people, both near and far; this we pray through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Blessed Be God

Every time we give ourselves away in selfless concern, we make the kingdom of God real to people.  Every proclamation of the Gospel, every kind word, selfless gesture or act of love ushers in the kingdom of God and reveals to us and the world what it means to be truly human and made in the image of God.

St. Irenaeus put it plainly, “the glory of God is the human being fully alive”.  Imagine how quickly our world could be transformed if every person saw their mission to “bless and be a blessing”.  Imagine what a difference we could  make in our community if each member of St. Peter’s had this vision.

“…and blessed be His kingdom now and forever.”

Winter Hours of Worship

St. Peter's offers a variety of worship styles within and according to the guidelines of The Episcopal Church

Winter hours begin September 16th.

SUNDAY
7:45 a.m. The Holy Eucharist Rite I -- The 7:45 a.m. service provides a quiet, contemplative environment following the Rite I Liturgy with its ancient prayers and beautiful language.

9:15 a.m. The Holy Eucharist Rite II -- This service utilizes the contemporary form of the Eucharistic Liturgy. The celebration is accompanied by the music of Peter’s Voice or the Senior or Junior Choirs, followed by a coffee hour with adult and children’s educational programs from September through May.  Childcare is provided in the nursery.

11:15 a.m.The Holy Eucharist Rites I or II -- The 11:15 a.m. is a High Mass featuring a full choir, hymns, anthems, and sung prayers, providing a full, reverent, and solemn expression of worship that rivals that of any high church cathedral.  The service alternates back and forth between the traditional language of Rite I and the contemporary language of Rite II.

Morning Prayer Rite I -- On fifth Sundays of the month we replace our usual 11:15 am Mass with a service of Morning Prayer.  The service is filled with beautiful prayers and canticles.  Morning Prayer is patterned after the ancient practice of monastic communities who pass the hours of the day in prayer.  It is a service with high aesthetic appeal that often stirs great emotion.
